It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas?
It's too early.
It's 105 degrees outside, and I'm sweating like crazy. But yet, they've arrived.
Holiday. Scented. Pinecones.
NOPE.
It's true. I was at the supermarket yesterday, when I was stopped on my way in by the familiar sight and smell of the Holiday season creeping up on us. There, at the front, was a giant display of bagged and scented pinecones. Perfect for potpourri or throwing in your firepit around Christmastime. But, after a quick check of the calendar, I realized that I wasn't crazy. It's still August. Waaaaaaay too early for anything Fall, or certainly Christmas-related, to be displayed.
Or, is it?
Starbucks and Dunkin' have both already begun the Pumpkin Spice frenzy, which SCREAMS Fall. Perhaps, we are yearning for a simpler time. With all that 2020 has brought upon us, maybe we need a little holiday cheer to remind us of what really matters... Maybe, we need a little Christmas.
Of course, right now...I am typing this while wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and flip-flops. Everyone's typical Christmas attire...
It's still too early.
