First Texas 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrant Arrested

Just 24 hours after Governor Greg Abbott sent out his "Top 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List," the first of the 10 has been captured. Again, I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT attempt to contact or apprehend any of these criminal illegal immigrants. They are extremely dangerous.

The Texas Department of Public Safety just sent me a press release announcing the first arrest. Servando Trejo Duran Jr., age 62, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, June 6th, by special agents of the Texas Department of Public Safety's Texas Anti-Gang Unit just outside of Houston.

While Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Stoppers were offering a reward for Servando Duran's arrest, the reward will not be paid since no tips were ever called in or shared. Duran was first arrested in 1980 in Baytown for the burglary of a residence, receiving a 10-year probation.

Six years later, Duran was arrested and convicted in Harris County for murder with a deadly weapon, subsequently receiving a life sentence. In 2009, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice released Duran from prison and removed him from the United States later that year.

In February 2023, Duran was back in the United States. He was arrested in Deer Park when he was caught tampering with government records. Servando was released on bond and taken into custody yesterday, 24 hours after Governor Greg Abbott's Top 10 Most Wanted list was released.

Funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, Texas Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants.

To be eligible for cash rewards, tipsters MUST provide information to authorities using one of the following three methods:

  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477)
  • Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about and then clicking on the link under their picture.
  • Submit a Facebook tip by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).
All tips MUST remain anonymous—regardless of how they are submitted—and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using any names. Source: Texas Department Of Public Safety 'Crime stoppers'

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous!
