A Bit Of Good News If You Already Miss Lubbock’s Tom & Bingos
Tom & Bingo's recently ended a 70-year-old Lubbock tradition with a bang, closing permanently on January 20th to long lines of bundled-up Lubbockites. There's not much we are willing to brave the cold for, but one last shot of great BBQ is one of them. They also left a heart-warming message on their Facebook:
Tom & Bingo's announced they would be closing their family-run business on January 12th, but were possibly looking for a new pitmaster to take over their business, should the right one present themselves.
Previously, Tom & Bingo's called for patience with their 75-year-old building that was, "falling apart quicker than [they could] make repairs," but it seems that the ultimate decision to close was simply that the family wanted to pursue other things: "These West Texas winds have blown us in a different direction."
But there is some good news if you already miss Tom & Bingo's signature flavor.
Tom & Bingo's signature barbeque sauce is still available for sale at Lubbock area Market Streets!
A big shout-out to Amy (a person I happen to love very much, btw) for asking the question we'd all been wanting to ask.
While it won't be quite the same on your homemade barbeque, it should fill that Tom & Bingo's shaped hole we have in our hearts.
