Here’s How To Return Gifts At Your Texas Walmart

Well we made it. Christmas has now come and gone, the gifts have all been opened, and everyone is happy with what they got.

Ok, maybe you aren't happy with EVERYTHING you got, but hey, that's why stores allow returns right? However, there's one catch. There are usually rules that go with returning items, specifically electronics for some reason.

We can be honest, a lot of our shopping gets done at retailers like Target and Walmart, and those places all have limitations on how long you can have something before returning it. It's normally 90 days after purchase, otherwise you're simply stuck with the item and looking for a different way to return it.

Good news for you Texas Walmart returners. They've decided to extend that policy a little bit, considering some people begin their shopping super early in the year.

If you have an item you got for Christmas and you just aren't feeling it, or maybe you just don't need two of them, you CAN take it into Walmart and return it. Now, there's still a catch to all this.

As long as the item was purchased on or before October 1, 2023, you have until January 31, 2024 to return that gift. That means if you have that early gift shopper, you aren't at risk of the 90 day return policy. Better yet, you don't have to go rushing in that dreaded day after Christmas to hurriedly exchange that gift and deal with the mass amounts of people doing the same.

Now, there are a couple of catches here, one of them I learned myself already. First, if that gift was purchased prior to October 1, 2023, you may be out of luck and stuck with that item. Better look for another way to get rid of that one.

Secondly, say that item was purchased online via Walmart. They work with some third-party vendors, and if that particular item was bought via a third-party on the Walmart app or website, you won't be able to return it directly to the store, making things a little bit harder to get your hands on what you really want.

If that happens, they will be able to let you know how you can go about returning it online by shipping it back, or you could just opt to sell it yourself via Facebook Marketplace or some other avenue.
