Lubbock Man Arrested After Intentional Hit and Run at Gas Station

A man was arrested over the weekend after trying to intentionally run someone over with their vehicle. The Lubbock Police Department was dispatched to a Stripes gas station, along Southeast Loop 289 and Slaton Road, on Sunday, August 27, after a report of a hit and run. It wasn't until later that day that a family member of 52-year-old Antonio Carr called police with information regarding that incident.

KAMC news reports that the family member told police that Carr came to her home telling her that he might have possibly killed someone that day. It was then revealed that Carr proceeded to ask another family member if he could hide his car in their garage. Carr's vehicle did match the description of the vehicle that was seen by multiple witnesses during the hit and run.

Police were able to eventually locate Carr who denied knowing anything about the hit and run that occurred at the Stripes. I was later revealed that this was not the first time Carr had been involved in hitting someone with his vehicle but had previously been arrested for hitting the victim's friend with his car in another incident. The victim was transported to Covenant Medical Center for moderate injuries but there is no current update on their status.

Carr was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury. As per the publishing of this article, Carr remains in custody at the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond. Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury is a second-degree felony and if convicted Carr could face between two years to 20 years in prison along with a minimum $10,000 fine.
