Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced this week that the State of Texas will continue to put the violent Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua, in the crosshairs as the state looks to prevent the gang from committing crimes across Texas.

Governor Abbott announced this week that he is offering a $5,000 reward for information about members of Tren de Aragua. The gang has made news in Texas in recent weeks for allegedly taking over a hotel in El Paso.

According to ABC7, the gang has also been active in Colorado and New York City. Police in Aurora, Colorado have identified 10 members of the gang operating in the city and New York City Police have accused two gang members of assaulting police officers in February.

According to ABC7, Governor Greg Abbott said Texas will not allow Tren de Aragua to gain a foothold in Texas.

“Tren de Aragua has spread terror and carnage in every country they've been in, and Texas will not allow them to gain a foothold in our state,” Gov. Abbott said. “Texas will not let these thugs use our state as a base of operations to terrorize our citizens.”

If you know of any TDA gang member, you can call in tips to the Texas Crime Stoppers hotline, or by submitting an online tip. Those who submit tips will be eligible for reward money.
