Oh the heels of a successful weekend series at home against no. 14 Oklahoma, in which the Red Raiders took the first two games of the three game set, there has been another Texas Tech player to be named the Big 12 Player of the Week.

Josh Jung also earned this accolade for the second time this season, with the first coming just after the first week of the baseball season. This is the second straight week a Red Raider player was the player of the week, with Grant Little taking honors last week.

Jung recorded 10 hits over four games last week, with seven going for extra bases, the most of any conference player during that stretch. He had his best game during the midweek series against New Mexico where he went 5 for 5, had 8 RBI, and hit for the cycle.

He was even getting it done on the base paths. During the first game against OU, Jung stood at third and caused the pitcher to balk, sending him home and winning the game for the Red Raiders in extra innings. Texas Tech went on to win two out of three from the 14th ranked Sooners to set up a final run toward a third straight Big 12 Conference title.

The No. 4 Red Raiders return to action at No. 7 Arkansas on Tuesday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m., kicking off a two-game set at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.
