Levelland Man Pleads Not Guilty to Murdering His Wife in 1993

After appearing in court on Wednesday, March 24th, Ricky Don Henderson of Levelland pleaded not guilty to killing his wife back in 1993.

Henderson's wife, Stephanie Meeks Henderson, went missing back in November of 1993. KAMC News reports that she had called her grandmother to come pick her up at her house in Levelland, and when the grandmother arrived, she wasn't anywhere to be found. Ricky said that she left with friends from Hobbs, New Mexico. She still hasn't been located. The indictment says that Ricky killed his wife by a "manner and means" that has yet to be determined.

Only as recently as 2018 was the case re-examined after Ricky was named as a person-of-interest in the murder of Jeannie Quinn in Levelland. The 19-year-old's body was found hanging from a tree in Abilene in April of 2018. It was described by medical examiners as a staged hanging. She was last seen with Ricky just days before she died. Ricky claims he got into a fight with her while in the car and was dropped off on a secluded road..

Hockley County Sheriff Ray Scifres said that his officers looked at the 1993 case around this time.

Right now, Ricky is serving a 20-year-long prison sentence after being convicted in 2019 of providing a controlled substance to a minor. It's said he gave marijuana to a minor in July of 2016. He has not been convicted in the killings of either Stephanie Henderson or Jeannie Quinn.
