Lonestar Tattoo and Music Fest Offering Free Tattoos to Local Officers
Tragedy struck in Levelland, Texas last week when a standoff resulted in four officers wounded and dying from those injuries. That officer was SWAT Commander Sgt. Josh Bartlett. Since the incident, the suspect has been apprehended and charged with Capital Murder of a Peace Officer.
The support for Bartlett's family, fellow officers, and the city of Levelland has been enormous.
Vista Bank announced Thursday night that a memorial fund has been established for Sgt. Bartlett's family.
"Vista Bank was deeply saddened to hear of the tragic loss of our friend, Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Commander Sergeant Josh Bartlett," they said in a press release. "In his honor and to support his family, we have established an account that will assist with expenses. Those wishing to offer their support can contact any West Texas Vista Bank location to donate."
The Levelland Police Department thanked the public for the response as well after fundraisers were set up for the injured Levelland Police Officers who were wounded during the 10-hour standoff.
Now, police officers are being offered a free tattoo to honor the fallen Sgt. Bartlett at Friday's Lonestar Tattoo and Music Fest, presented by Budweiser and 94.5 FMX. According to event organizers, the tattoo will be free to police officers who show their badge at the gates:
Our deepest condolences go to all the loved ones hurt by this tragic event. After we had a few calls about memorial tattoos, we decided to give every police officer a FREE memorial tattoo in honor of Sgt. Bartlett and the 3 officers injured. Show your badge at the door for free admission.
