On Saturday, August 29th, Lubbock Animal Services will participate in the National Clear the Shelters event.

All adopted animals will be vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered.

This is the 3rd year that LAS has participated in the event, which will last from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

50 people will be allowed in the building at a time and social distancing will be enforced both indoors and outdoors. Face coverings must be worn for people over the age of 9. Most of the paperwork will be done on the curb and families will be required to wait in their vehicles until the adoption is finalized.

Since this event began 6 years ago, Clear the Shelters has found homes for more than 400,000 pets. Last year alone, over 1,900 organizations partnered to Clear the Shelters.
