Lubbock AT&T Customers: You Could Get Up to $7,500
If you’ve got AT&T service here in Lubbock, listen up--because this might be one of the rare times being an AT&T customer actually pays off.
AT&T just settled a $177 million class action lawsuit, and some Lubbock customers could be eligible for checks as high as $7,500. But the key word is could, because you only have until December 18 to file a claim.

And judging by the way folks in Lubbock talk about cell service, many are already joking that this might be the biggest thing AT&T has given them besides dropped calls on Slide Road.
What Happened With AT&T?
According to the Kroll Settlement Administration, AT&T customers had their private information leaked not once, but twice in 2024.
On March 30th, 2024, personal data from some customers--including Social Security numbers, birthdates, phone numbers, addresses, billing account numbers, and even passcodes--was posted on the dark web. Then, on July 12th, it allegedly happened again, this time with data being illegally downloaded.

A lot of people in Lubbock probably didn’t even know this happened--because the news got buried. But if you had AT&T, there’s a real chance your info was involved.
AT&T settled the lawsuits earlier this year and (like every company in every class-action settlement ever) denied any wrongdoing. But they agreed to pay customers who were hit by the breaches.
How Much Can Lubbock Customers Get?
Here’s the breakdown:
March 30 breach: Up to $5,000
July 12 breach: Up to $2,500
Both breaches: Up to $7,500
The actual amount depends on how many people nationwide file claims — but even a slice of that pie beats nothing.
Claims can be submitted online or by mail, but you’ll need to provide documentation proving your costs, losses, or identity-related expenses caused by the breaches.
The final approval hearing happens January 15th, 2026, but the important deadline for Lubbock folks is December 18th, 2025.
