Lubbock Institutes Annual Water Conservation Measures
The City of Lubbock will once again begin annual water conservation efforts in April with the summer months fast approaching.
Stage 1 restrictions are still in place, reports the city, which means landscape irrigation is allowed only two days a week on a property.
Watering days are determined by the last digit of a property’s address:
Last Digit of Address | Watering Days |
0, 3, 4 or 9 | Mondays and Thursdays |
1, 5 or 6 | Tuesdays and Fridays |
2, 7 or 8 | Wednesday and Saturdays |
Additional restrictions include: no watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. effective April 1 through September 30; irrigation of less than 1.5 inches of water per week; irrigation must not create significant runoff; and no irrigation during precipitous events.
The city did say soaker hoses, drip-irrigation and hand watering are allowed regardless of time or day.
Variance applications are available online at the City of Lubbock’s website.
