Lubbock Lions Club Celebrates 64 Years of the Pancake Festival [Photo Gallery]
The annual Pancake Festival in Lubbock is one of the largest in the world. This year, the Lubbock Lions Club celebrated its 64th year of providing citizens with thousands of pancakes, sausages and bacon.
The event does more than just satisfy Lubbock residents' stomachs, though. Tens of thousands of dollars are raised each year by the Lions Club for various charities.
The amount of generosity mirrors the ridiculous quantity of supplies needed by the Lions Club to hold the pancake festival:
- Nearly 6,000 pounds of pancake mix
- 41,000 ounces of pancake syrup
- 46,500 servings of milk and orange juice
- 2,000+ bags of cotton candy
- 240 gallons of coffee
- 72,000 sausage links
- 36,750 plates
- 17,280 ounces of margarine
- 3,850 pieces of bubble gum
- 2,000+ face tattoos
- Over 23,000 slices of bacon
