Lubbock Man Arrested After Shooting Incident & Car Accident
More information came out on a bizarre shooting incident that took place on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020.
KAMC News reports that shots were first reported at about 11 a.m. outside a residence in the 3200 block of 90th Street.
Lubbock police say a woman inside the residence was involved in a domestic disturbance of some kind and called a man she knew to come to the scene.
When the man arrived at the scene in a passenger car, he was armed with a shotgun and told the woman to get inside his car. He then fired multiple times toward the house and at a parked car in the driveway, shattering its windows.
The man then drove away from the scene, but almost immediately got into a car accident with an SUV while trying to cross multiple lanes of traffic on Indiana Avenue.
Police say the man then tried to flee the crash on foot, threw his shotgun into some bushes, and threatened witnesses of the crash with a knife.
He was located and arrested shortly after the accident, but has yet to be identified. His female passenger suffered serious injuries in the accident and had to be taken to University Medical Center. The driver of the SUV suffered only minor injuries.
The shooting is still under investigation, as are the subsequent car crash and the alleged domestic disturbance.
