Lubbock Police have provided additional details concerning a shooting that happened at a local Long John Silver's back on Thursday, September 16th.

KAMC News reports that it happened a little bit after 9:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of 50th Street in the back parking lot of the establishment. Officers responded to the scene after shots were heard in the area.

A witness at the scene told police that she was there to pick up the victim, who wasn't identified in most recent news releases, and 2 others from the restaurant when the suspect's vehicle drove up behind her. It's said that woman got out of that vehicle, approached the other woman and told her to get out and fight her.

The witness claims she then threw a drink at the other woman, leading to a fight. It's said the 2 women were striking each other and pulling each other's hair, and in the middle of this, the victim was said to have tried to break up the fight.

At this point, the suspect, who also hasn't been identified, allegedly approached with a pistol, kicked the victim, and shot her in the side. She was eventually transported to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
