Lubbock’s Little Entrepreneurs Need to Listen Up!

Is your child the creative type? Do you have a mini mogul on your hands? Are they the brains behind a bite-sized business idea? Then listen up! Kidpreneur Lubbock is a local organization that teaches local kids about how to market their goods and services to the community. They have partnered with the Science Spectrum for the last two years and their next vendor fair is coming up!

James Nesmith, the Administrative Manager of the Science Spectrum notes that this is a fantastic event tailored for kids who have either created a business or are thinking about starting one. “This was started by a local mom who's been in contact with a national group called Acton Children's Business Fair that puts these fairs on throughout the country. It is an opportunity for [kids] to be able to set up a vendor booth or table and be able to actually make sales to the general public. It is primarily for kids ages six to 17.” 

Each year this shopping extravaganza happens in the Science Spectrum lobby and it normally brings about 25 to 30 kidpreneurs. While the big event is not until November 5th, your little businessmen and women need to apply by September 17th in order to participate. This can be done at https://www.kidpreneurlbk.com. Once they do, they can prepare their business plan along with their goods and services. 

This can be a great way for them to make some extra cash and learn something along the way. The Kidpreneur Fair will be from 10:30AM to 2:30PM on that Saturday and it is completely free to attend so make sure to mark your calendars. “We definitely encourage folks to come out and start their holiday shopping a little early. Start finding some unique and inventive gifts for family members and friends that you would never find anywhere else,” Nesmith stressed.
