The Lubbock Science Spectrum Is Bringing Back a Pop-ular Event

As we approach the Halloween holiday, we are all looking forward to the many spook-tacular events that the South Plains has to offer. For those parents looking for some good, clean fun for their little ghouls and goblins, make sure to mark your calendars for Bubblefest.

Back by pop-ular demand, the Science Spectrum will be putting on this incredi-bubble event that allows kids to partake in exciting hands-on educational activities and experiments that look at bubbles in sports, nature, and science.

James Nesmith, the Administrative Manager of Science Spectrum, notes that "this family friendly event looks at the science of playing with bubbles. We will have a bubble gum blowing contest, a science bubble demonstration called Exploding Bubbles, and so much more."

However, Nesmith stresses that the highlight of the event is Casey Carle's Bubblemania show.

"It's a 30 to 40 minute live science and comedy show where this bubble performer creates these amazing bubble sculptures and objects. He also makes giant bubbles and puts people in bubbles," said Nesmith. "It's really, really great because he is one of the best bubble performers that we've ever had come out to this event. It's funny, he has music, and he gets the kids involved."

This one day event will be going on at the Science Spectrum on Saturday, October 15th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost of admission is $10 for adults, $8.50 for kids and seniors, and those 2 years and under get in for free.

This will also get you admission the rest of the exceptional exhibits throughout the museum. Best of all, this is the one weekend that Texas Tech does not have a football game, making it the perfect time to get out and enjoy.
