Lubbock's Most Dangerous Intersection

Accidents happen on a regular basis at this spot.

I don't understand what's so hard to get about this intersection. It's only two Loop 289 access roads with two I-27 access roads that go under Loop 289 and above Interstate 27 with one-way roads and four-way stops. Yes, you read that correctly.

I see people go the wrong way on this intersection almost daily. I'm not kidding or exaggerating. I frequently have to take different routes due to accidents at this intersection. People have been killed here.

To me, it's just a weird four-way stop. Then again, I've driven it many times over. It's the intersection of the North Loop 289 and the Interstate on the way to the airport (it's easier to think of that way, as opposed to dropping a bunch of north, east, west, etc. type directions).

I don't know why people don't just pay attention to the signs, especially the ones that say "DO NOT ENTER." Then you have a lot of vehicles who come to the area at a high rate of speed and why they don't see the stop signs with the blinking lights on them is beyond me.
