Lubbock’s Salvation Army Sends Out Pop Drop Trucks to Help Folks Beat the Heat
Lubbock's Salvation Army is sending out Pop Drop trucks to help us beat the heatwave this week. They're handing out icy cold freeze pops to anyone and everyone at several locations around town, according to their Facebook page.
Be on the lookout for the Salvation Army trucks. They will be handing out delicious refreshing cold freeze pops all over Lubbock in their tremendous effort to keep us cool. They were out Tuesday afternoon in front of the Walmart at 114th and Quaker and will return tomorrow, Wednesday, July 15th, from 1 - 3 p.m., according to a press release and KLBK.
They will have a second truck that will be out and about at various locations throughout town as well. We can expect to see them throughout the week this week. What a terrific idea.
Here's what they shared on their Facebook page Sunday:
POP DROP
It’s HOT out there and The Salvation Army of Lubbock’s Mobile Pop Drop trucks will be hitting the streets this week to help cool things off a bit by distributing COLD Freeze Pops to ANYONE. We’ll post location information tomorrow, but if you see these trucks throughout the city, feel free to safely follow them to their next stop. Or if you’d like us to come to your neighborhood/place of business/etc, message us on FB or email david.worthy@uss.salvationarmy.org.
So if you have a request and would like the Salvation Army Pop Drop truck to come to your neighborhood or your workplace, you can just contact them and put in a request.
When we've got triple-digit weather, it's great to see that Pop Drop Truck heading our way. A big shout out and thank you to the Salvation Army of Lubbock for this refreshing treat.
