Police have had to respond to multiple reports of crashes in Lubbock and the South Plains over the past few days.

On Sunday, June 20th, crews responded to 80th Street and University Avenue in Lubbock at around 4:40 p.m. It's said a passenger car and a pickup truck were involved the crash, but only minor injuries were reported.

Then, a day later, Lubbock Police responded to a collision in the 1700 block of I-27 in Lubbock. Police say a motorcyclist, 58-year-old Robert Belasco, was heading south on an on-ramp when he lost control. LPD says that 2 other vehicles were involved in the collision as they stopped to help him. Belasco was transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, while one of the people who stopped to help only suffered minor injuries.

Outside of Lubbock, one person died in a crash in Lynn County on Sunday, June 20th. It happened at US 87, 3 miles south of Tahoka, at 10:30 p.m. Reports say a Dodge Ram, driven by 58-year-old James Dean Levasseur drifted right and struck a truck tractor that was parked on the side of the road. Levasseur was pronounced dead at the scene.

Finally, on Saturday, June 19th, one was seriously injured in a crash in Plainview. It happened just after midnight at 2800 Dimmitt Road near the I-21 East Frontage Road. KAMC News reports a Dodge Challenger failed to yield at the intersection of Yonkers and Dimmitt and struck a tractor truck that was making a right turn. The driver, who hasn't been identified, was eventually flown to Lubbock for his injuries.
