Taylor Swift brought one of her childhood idols, Lubbock-born singer Natalie Maines, onstage to perform with her at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, Monday night.

Swift has made a habit out of doing this on her 1989 World Tour, bringing up fellow singers including Alanis Morissette, John Legend and Beck to name just a few.

Maines and Swift performed The Dixie Chick's hit song "Goodbye Earl," which she also used to perform in talent shows on a regular basis when she was younger.

Swift told the crowd that had it not been for Maines and The Dixie Chicks, she would not have known "that you can be quirky, be fun, be yourself, be outspoken and brave and real."

Maines is rejoining her other two Dixie Chicks members, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, for a 2016 European tour, with dates in the U.S. possible, but not scheduled yet.

Natalie Maines will also be inducted to the 2015 West Texas Walk of Fame, September 17 in Lubbock.
