New Girl Scout Cookie Mango Creme Is ‘Vitamin Enhanced’
When those sugar peddlers in green sashes come to your door this Girl Scout cookie season there will be a new treat on the menu.
Mango Creme will join popular favorites such as Thin Mints, Samoas and Tagalong. The sweet is described as a vanilla and coconut sandwich-style cookie with mango-flavored filling. And not only is it delicious, but it is also nutritious.
Well, sort of. The cookie comes with something called Nutrifusion™, which means it is infused with 15 percent of your daily intake of Vitamin B1 per serving, and 5 percent of the RDI of Vitamins A, C, D, E and B6. The cookie also contains slightly less fat than the average Girl Scout offering.
These health claims have created a bit of controversy, since the cookie is still nowhere near as good for you as, say, an apple.
In fact, it is still sort of bad for you, especially if you scarf down the whole box before you can stick it in the cookie drawer. And, like with all Girl Scout cookies, the risk of that type of flash gluttony is quite high.
