On This Day in 1968 – Janis Joplin Goes Gold

On October 15th 1968 the album "Cheap Thrills", by Big Brother & The Holding Company, featuring "Summertime", "Piece Of My Heart" and the mind-blowing vocals of Janis Joplin, was certified Gold.

It went Double Platinum in March of 2001.
