Paul McCartney Leads Bruce Springsteen, Joe Walsh and Dave Grohl Through ‘Abbey Road’ Medley to Close out 2012 Grammy Awards
Paul McCartney put a big classic rock bow on the 2012 Grammy Awards by performing parts of the famous ‘Abbey Road’ medley with help from Joe Walsh, Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl.
As much fun as it would have been to see Lady Gaga join the Beatles legend for a run through John Lennon‘s ‘Polythene Pam’ — or even better, to get the Beastie Boys’ magnificent scratching on ‘The End’ – we got more than our money’s worth with the all-star guitar jam of that same song.
It also seems possible that a relatively new star emerged from among these legends during this performance — one of our Popcrush co-workers and our wife both instantly demanded to know who the handsome young blonde on the far right was (Brian Ray, from McCartney’s awesome solo band in case your (cough) grandmother also wondered).
Springsteen, Walsh and McCartney all performed double-duty at the Grammys, with Springsteen kicking off the event with a live performance of his new single ‘We Take Care of Our Own,’ and Walsh joining McCartney on his new track, ‘My Valentine.’
