Texas Heat Meets Deodorant Recall: Power Stick Pulled from Shelves
If the Texas summer wasn’t already miserable, the news of a massive deodorant recall couldn’t have come at a worse time. Over 67,000 cases of Power Stick roll-on antiperspirant deodorants—sold at Amazon, Walmart, and Dollar Tree—have been voluntarily recalled amid a nationwide manufacturing concern.

What's the Issue?
On July 10, Pennsylvania-based A.P. Deauville issued the recall after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration flagged the products for "deviations from Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards"—the rules that ensure safety, labeling accuracy, and product consistency. The FDA enforcement report did not specify exactly what went wrong, but the move is precautionary to protect consumers.

Stop Using Immediately
Locally, shoppers in Lubbock might still have these stashed away after picking them up during a quick Amazon delivery, Dollar Tree run, or a stop at Walmart. The FDA recommends stopping use immediately and returning affected items to the original point of purchase for a refund—or safely dispose of them.
Right now, no injuries or health incidents related to the recalled deodorants have been reported, but experts say that proper manufacturing standards are critical—even for everyday personal care items.
Summer Tip!
With triple-digit temperatures already beating West Texans down, keeping cool and protected is priority numero uno. Toss that recalled deodorant, and maybe keep baby wipes or fresh products on hand instead.
Stay safe—and stay fresh, Lubbock.
