Roosevelt vs Abernathy Friday Night in Playoff Rematch

This upcoming weekend, regional finals will be played for Classes 2A-6A in the UIL High School Football playoffs.

In Lubbock, the Class 3A Division II Region I Final will be played at Jones AT&T Stadium. Featuring two Lubbock County schools, the undefeated Roosevelt Eagles (13-0) will face off against the Abernathy Antelopes (12-1), Friday, December 3 at 7pm. Tickets for the game will only be on sale the evening of the game at the Jones AT&T Stadium gates. According to Roosevelt ISD, the tickets will cost $10 for Adults and $5 for Students.

Both teams play out of District 4-3A, Division II and they played against each other during Week 9 of the regular season. Roosevelt edged out Abernathy 58-56 in a come-from-behind win. The Eagles used a 22 point fourth quarter to overcome a 48-30 deficit after three quarters. The Antelopes regular season loss to the Eagles is Abernathy's only defeat, so far, in 2021.

The winner of Roosevelt vs. Abernathy will play against the winner of Holliday vs. Gunter (Class 3A Division II Region II Final) the following weekend in a Class 3A, Division II State Semi-Final game.
