San Jose, California Man Arrested for Making Terror Threat on American Airlines Flight Diverted to Lubbock
An American Airlines flight on its way to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport was diverted to Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport because of an unruly passenger.
American Airlines Flight 2452 was on its way from Ontario International Airport in California to DFW when it landed in Lubbock at 5:15 a.m. Thursday morning.
According to the City of Lubbock, the passenger was immediately arrested and removed from the plane by law enforcement and taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being booked into the Lubbock County Jail.
The arrested passenger has been identified as 24-year-old Jerry Ba Nguyen of San Jose, California.
Nguyen was charged with making a Terror Threat and is being held for the U.S. Marshals. He allegedly rushed to the front of the cabin and was banging on the cockpit door before being restrained.
According to the Dallas Morning News, Flight 2452 left Lubbock after Nguyen's arrest and landed at DFW at about 7 a.m.
