Election Day as a state holiday in Texas? Now, that’s something most folks around here can actually agree on! A recent poll shows a whopping 70% of people think it’s high time we make it official and take the day off. Some weirdos (15%) are saying “no way,” and another 15% are still on the fence on the issue

It doesn’t stop there, though. 68% of people want companies to give everyone paid time off specifically to go vote. Imagine not having to juggle your lunch break or sneak out of work early just to stand in line and cast your ballot. It would be a nice gesture from your company, especially when you consider the fact that 'every vote counts'!

But here’s where the debate heats up a little: with early voting now an option almost everywhere, do we still need a whole day off? A whopping 83% say finding time to vote in 2024 hasn’t been too tough on them.

And then there’s the question of timing. Is Tuesday the best day for Election Day, or should we switch it up? This poll shows a lot of people want to leave it where it is—27% said Tuesday is their day, with another 27% not minding what day it is, as long as they can vote. Saturday was the next pick at 17%, which might not be a bad idea, especially for those who can’t swing a weekday. Thursday came in last, though, with just 2% of the vote.

So, what do y’all think? Should we stick with Tuesday, or is it time for a change? Either way, voting should be a breeze for all Texans.

Now, get out there and vote because if you don't vote, you can't complain...and where's the fun in that?!?
