After TCU’s attempt at putting Lubbock down for being ‘a desert’ and Texas Tech’s prompt snap back with the use of the cactus emoji, those that support Texas Tech will forever use cacti as a symbol of their support.

Every Texas Tech fan across the country is using the emoji on their social media platforms, and businesses are using cacti as a part of their branding as well. Not only that, but the university is even getting involved in the best way yet.

This Friday, August 5, 2022, the Texas Tech Greenhouse is hosting an end of summer cactus and succulent sale. The sale will take place at the TTU Horticultural Garden at 3340 Main Street from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

In their Instagram post announcing the sale, they said, “Right, so we don't care what anyone says, we're pretty happy here ‘in the desert!’” They decided the best way to show school spirit and celebrate their hot and dry home is by spreading some love and hosting this cactus sale.

Not only will they have a variety of cacti and succulents for sale, but this is also a great chance to explore the beautiful garden at Tech. I will definitely be stopping by to get my hands on a cactus because at this point, every Texas Tech fan should have a cactus in their house, dorm, apartment, or office right now.

Check out their post on Instagram for more information about the sale.
