Whoa.

I was shocked to discover that of all of the convenience store options that we have in the Hub City, such as Quick Track, Stripes, United Express, 7-11, etc. that one chain was notably missing.

No, it's not a Buc-ee's, and that's another discussion for another day.

Lubbock is without a Circle K. But that's about to change.

Yep, right there on the corner of 130th and Indiana, amidst a bevy of construction equipment, it looks like ground has been broken for the first Circle K location in Lubbock.

First? Yeah, I was surprised, too. I honesty didn't give the sign on the corner much thought until a did a quick search to find the nearest Circle K location. Turns out, it's actually in Tucumcari, New Mexico. TUCUMCARI? They have a Circle K before we do?

Yes, Dwight, it's true. We can now finally elevate Lubbock to the level of such vacation hotspots as Tucumcari, since we are finally getting a Circle K.

The corner of 130th and Indiana is beginning to get busy, as there's already Domino's, a very nice apartment complex and a Rosa's just south of the intersection. Plus, United Supermarket has the northeast corner of the intersection staked out, along with a few other businesses. On top of that, there are a few strip malls yet to be populated south of 130th Street, which will only add to the urban sprawl.

For those who live in the area, it will be a welcome addition to pop in and grab a coffee or seek help for a history report. Just watch out for flying, time-travelling phone booths. And remember: be excellent to one another.
