The City of Lubbock issued a news release on Sunday, April 7, stating that "parts of the roadway near 9th Street and Quaker Avenue caved in today, after a water main burst Saturday, April 6."

The release also stated that The City of Lubbock Water Utilities Department will begin repairing the road on Monday, April 8.

"Though the inside lane is safe to drive, motorists are asked to drive with caution especially when crews are on site working," the statement said.

Hopefully, the city will get the street repaired quickly so that traffic flow is not impacted for longer than necessary.
