The "all-clear" has been given at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.  Vehicular traffic is now allowed into & out of the airport.

No explosives were found inside the bag that was searched by authorities.

Also, planes that had landed at the airport during the evacuation are being allowed to taxi to the terminal. Passengers are now deplaning as well.

Members of a joint Lubbock Police- Lubbock County Sheriff's Office bomb squad are now examining images taken of a man and a bag at the Southwest Airlines ticket counter earlier today. According to city officials, just before 4:45p, the man approached the ticket counter and said he had a bomb.

The unidentified man has been arrested and taken to the Lubbock City Jail. Traffic is still blocked at their airport entrance of Regis Avenue and MLK Blvd.

Some time after 5p Thursday evening, the terminal at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport was evacuated due to a suspicious package being found by authorities. Also, police blocked off the main entrance of the airport at Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

All vehicular traffic either inbound or outbound from the airport has been blocked as well.

KFYO News at 5:54p learned that some flights may be allowed to land, but the planes will be kept away from the terminal.

A person has been placed in custody by Lubbock Police. Also, the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department bomb squad is at the airport examining a device.
