State authorities in the Texas Panhandle discovered over 437 pounds of Tetrahydrocannabionol (THC) inside a California man's vehicle.

On Thursday, March 17th, the Texas Department of Public Safety reports around 1:15 p.m. a DPS trooper pulled over a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe on Interstate 40 in Carson County near Conway.

During the stop, a Texas DPS canine was fetched and that's when 140 glass jars of THC were found inside boxes in the vehicle. The jars contained over 437 pounds of THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana.

The driver, 59-year-old John Caruso of Redondo Beach, California, was arrested, charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Carson County Jail.

Authorities believe the drugs were being trafficked from Los Angeles, California, to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
