Texas Gets One of Two New Toys R Us Stores After Bankruptcy
Just in time for the holiday season, Texas is set to get one of two new Toys R Us stores opening since the company filed for bankruptcy in 2018.
After a successful Thanksgiving weekend launch of the company's first post-bankruptcy store in Paramus, New Jersey, Houston will be getting the second new store this week.
According to IGN, the company is looking to have 10 stores opened by the end of 2020, with a new business model by focusing on a smaller overall inventory and allowing customers to experience new toys first-hand in the store. For items not carried in-store, each location will have an online kiosk for orders to be fulfilled by Target. Also, some locations will have a tree house and a movie theater.
The Houston location is scheduled to open on December 5th.
