Texas Tech Baseball Finishes Home Stand With Win Over Stetson
On Monday afternoon the Texas Tech baseball team hosted the Stetson Hatters to finish off their five-game weekend homestand that featured a huge sweep of #22 Michigan.
After falling to Stetson on Sunday, the Red Raiders bounced back and took the finale by a final of 5 to 4.
Bryce Bonnin got the start on the bump yesterday and threw his best game as a Red Raider so far by going 6 1/3 innings, giving up only one earned run, on only one hit, striking out 3 and walking 4 batters.
Josh Jung for the Red Raiders finished 3 for 4 with 2 RBI from a triple that scored Dylan Neuse and Gabe Holt in the 3rd inning. Neuse finished 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Cody Masters also finished 2 for 4 in the win.
Ryan Sublette would come in during the 9th inning to shut it all down and pick up his first save of the season. The Red Raiders now move to 16-6 on the season while Stetson falls to 9-26 on the year.
The Red Raiders will continue Big 12 play next weekend with a trip to Manhattan, Kansas, to take on Kansas State. The three-game series begins Friday with a 6 p.m. first pitch from Tointon Family Stadium.
