Texas Tech Did Something Against TCU That No One Else Has Done in 2017

It was an eight-plus minute, 21-play drive that ended in a Clayton Hatfield field goal. The Red Raiders had nine passing plays and 11 rushing attempts as they went 65 yards for three points.

Shimonek started 7-9 for 42 yards and had a QB sneak on a 4th down. Texas Tech was 3 for 5 on third downs on the opening drive.

TCU would take their opening drive to inside the Texas Tech 10 yardline before the 1st quarter ran out, with Texas Tech leading 3-0.

The longest drive in NCAA history came in the 2004 Emerald Bowl when the Navy Midshipmen took a 26-play, 14-plus minute drive that netted a 22-yard field goal for Navy to ice a 34-19 win.
