Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells has added a former Freshman All-American wide receiver in McLane Mannix to the football program for the 2019 season.

Mannix returns to West Texas after spending his first two seasons at the University of Nevada, where he was arguably one of the top wide receivers in the Mountain West Conference.

During his two seasons in Reno, Mannix caught 107 passes for 1,653 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns as a slot receiver in the Wolf Pack's spread offense.

Mannix will have two seasons of eligibility remaining to go along with a possible redshirt year.

It's also worth noting that freshman offensive lineman Trevor Roberson (Wellington, Texas) and freshman tight end Simon Gonzalez (Magnolia, Texas) have also enrolled in classes to start the spring semester.
