The guide was created by the Military Advanced Education & Transition, and Texas Tech was voted top in surveys conducted.

MAE&T is a helpful aid to veterans and military so that they make informed decisions about their next step in education.

Out of all the institutions surveyed, Texas Tech was scored in six categories, including: military culture, financial assistance, flexibility, general support, online support and on-campus support.

Texas Tech scored highest on military culture, followed by on-campus support, and then general support.

The university serves more than 2,000 military students. They also employ more than 250 faculty and staff members who are veterans. Texas Tech offers unique aid in the colleges and on other parts of campus as well.

"We are thrilled to be selected as a top school for the 2016 Guide to Colleges and Universities," said Lou Ortiz, MVP director and Texas Tech alumnus. "This honor reflects Texas Tech’s commitment in providing a support system for smooth campus transition and academic success for our military and veteran students."
