The animal/thing above was spotted on security footage of the Amarillo Zoo on the morning of May 21st, 2022 at around 1:25 a.m. The animal/thing in question was spotted along the fence line just outside of the Amarillo Zoo property. The zoo specified that there was no sign of the animal/thing trying to get into the facility.

The reason the City of Amarillo released the photo was to get the community's help with identifying the odd creature.

"We just want to let the Amarillo community have some fun with this," said Michael Kashuba, the City of Amarillo's director of Parks and Recreation. "It is important to note that this entity was outside the Amarillo Zoo. There were no signs of attempted entry into the zoo. No animals or individuals were harmed. There were no signs of criminal activity or vandalism."

I'm sorry...fun?! I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight knowing this creature from the plains is bouncing around West Texas.

Can it travel long distances? Does it fly a UFO? Seriously Amarillo, how are you going to drop this bomb and just walk away like we're all going to be fine knowing there's an unknown species in the area?

This photo was taken on May 21st? That's more than two weeks ago! That thing could be in Fort Worth by now for all we know.

The City released a statement saying, "For now, the strange visitor is a UAO – Unidentified Amarillo Object," then adding: "In the spirit of fun if not curiosity, the City of Amarillo is letting the public offer ideas on the identity of the UAO. (Video footage is not available.)"

Wait, you can grab a screenshot of the video but not release the video?

I'm not scared anymore. Amarillo has hoaxed the nation.

Congratulations on your 15 minutes of fame, Amarillo Zoo. You can't fool me.

How do I know it's a hoax? This is what the City itself had to say:

"Have an idea about Amarillo’s UAO? Let us know via the COA communications office at publiccommunications@amarillo.gov or respond on related COA social media posts."

They just want you to comment on their social media posts.

It worked, too! In just 19 minutes of being online, the photo had nearly 20 shares and more than 30 comments. People love aliens and UFOs, why wouldn't they love a UAO? The chupacabra, jackalope and other animals already prove West Texans like mythical beasts.

Come to think of it, this is brilliant. Kudos, Amarillo. They'll announce the tours to hunt the creature next. Then, they'll create a festival in its honor. The UAO is the new Bigfoot. I'll be there, Amarillo, just let me know where to sign up.

What hoax can Lubbock pull to get tourists to the city? Comment on our Facebook page with your ideas. *Wink wink*
