The Hub City BBQ Is Back and Open to the Public
Listen to the audio below to hear about the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce Hub City BBQ.
Get ready to break out a big napkin, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for the Hub City BBQ, and this year the public can attend once again. The Hub City BBQ is Thursday, October 14th at the South Plains Fairgrounds.
Amy Marquez with the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce joined The Chad Hasty Show with Matt Martin on Friday to promote the Hub City BBQ. Due to the coronavirus pandemic last year, the public was not able to attend the event. That will change this year. There will also be another big change: no tickets will be sold at the door.
The Hub City BBQ is one of my favorite event that the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce puts on. There's live music, beverages, and, of course, BBQ. If you've never attended the Hub City BBQ, you're really missing out on a great time and great competition.
Each year, businesses that are members of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce cook-off against each other to find out which team is the best in different categories of BBQ. The cooking and judging happens during the day, then, from 5-8 p.m., the gates are opened for citizens who've purchased tickets to get in and sample from the different teams. There will be live music and both adult and non-adult beverages.
You can purchase tickets in person before the Hub City BBQ at the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce or on their website.
