We Might Have Found the Liquor Store That Lubbock Both Wants and Needs
It's no secret that here in Lubbock, we like to drink. Heck, you could go so far as to say that here in Lubbock, we need to drink. All that dust sure does dry out our temples, after all.
There really is no shortage of quality places to get your dranky-drank on here, with great choices like Spec's, Pinkie's and Doc's. However, after spending time in the Metroplex this past weekend, we need to add one more cherry on top of our boozy sundae.
You like bourbon? You're covered. There were brands that I had never even heard of before, plus a huge selection of Texas whiskeys.
Ever hear of Chicken Cock whiskey? I hadn't either, and I can't stop laughing about it.
Wanna spend a house payment on a unicorn bottle of wine? Done.
My thumb and I (see the picture below) were totally drawn to the craft beer section. And yes, there are more Texas breweries than you've ever known. We just cant get 'em here in the LBK.
Even still, as I mentioned, the joy was finding gems that we just can't get here in Lubbock. I mean who here in Texas doesn't want to enjoy a cold one from the legendary Texas Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin?
Yes, I bought a 4-pack. And that's the bottom line.
No, I'm not bashing the stores we have here, but there is such a big, beautiful, boozy world that we are missing out on. Total Wine has 36 locations in Texas (more than any other state) mostly around the major cities, but there's no reason why they can't expand out to West Texas at some point.
After all, we're mighty thirsty out here.
