‘The Visit’ Trailer: M. Night Shyamalan Returns to Take You to Grandma’s House
Admittedly, the trailer is a bit of a letdown and appears to reveal a little too much. The Visit follows a brother and sister whose mother (Hahn) sends them off to grandma and grandpa’s house for a week of elderly fun. Once the kids arrive, grandpa firmly establishes a 9:30 p.m. bedtime, ordering the children not to leave their rooms at night. As the trailer reveals (way, way too much), something is definitely not right with grandma. Shyamalan has a fondness of fairytales, so maybe this is his take on Hansel and Gretel, and grandma is a witch. Or maybe the big twist is that she’s schizophrenic, which seems like a pretty fair guess.
Honestly, I was hoping that the grandparents’ big secret involved throwing Eyes Wide Shut-style ragers every night, but what can you do.
