Tragic: Texas Student Is The 9th Person That Died From Injuries at Astroworld Festival
No one who attended the Travis Scott AstroWorld Festival in Houston last weekend went to the concert expecting to not come home.
Bharti Shahani was one of the attendees whose lives were tragically lost.
According to KHOU, the 22-year-old Texas A&M student died Wednesday evening from injuries suffered at the show.
Shahani was an electronic systems engineering technology major.
Sadly, she was one of nine people who perished in the Astroworld Festival tragedy.
Her sister, Namrata Shahani, set up a Gofundme page 2 days ago to help cover expenses related to Shahani's injuries. It reads:
Hi, my name is Namrata Shahani and I am fundraising on behalf of my older sister Bharti Shahani. Bharti was critically injured during the Astroworld 2021 festival in Houston, Texas and is currently in the ICU fighting for her life. Our family remains by Bharti's side and are unable to work. We are raising funds to help cover mounting expenses during this strenuous time. Bharti is the light of our lives and we are all praying for her full and speedy recovery. We greatly appreciate any donations and ask that everyone keep Bharti and our family in their prayers during this difficult time.
As if Shahani's situation wasn't sad enough, this other one almost brought me to tears.
A nine-year-old who was a huge fan of Travis Scott accompanied his father to the same concert, and is now in an induced coma after being trampled at the show.
My constant prayers to all families who were affected by this horrific tragedy.
