The Texas Department of Public Safety seized 200 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Monday (March 26) in Oldham County.

Texas DPS said that at around 3:45 p.m., a trooper pulled over a Nissan Altima driving east on I-40 near Vega for a traffic violation.

During the stop, the trooper found vacuum-sealed packages and plastic-wrapped packages of marijuana in the vehicle.

The driver, 24-year-old Jose Villagomez, was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana, then booked into the Oldham County Jail.

The drugs were allegedly being transported from California to Amarillo, Texas.
