University Medical Center Gives Update on Visitation Guidelines
On Tuesday, June 8th, the University Medical Center Health System provided an update on their visitation and mask protocols.
UMC said in a news release that they will continue to follow CDC guidelines in regards to mask wearing and COVID-19 protocols.
Back on Friday, June 4th, UMC began allowing additional visitation for those not infected with COVID-19. Non-COVID-19 patients can now have visitors of all ages, 5 visitors per patient per day. For end of life patients, there is no limitation on number of visitors, but some Intensive Care Units do have limitations. For questions about patient limitations, it's recommended that you ask the patient's nurse.
However, UMC still will not allow COVID-19 patients to have any visitors, with the following exceptions:
Patients in the Family Birth Center may have 1 coach or partner per patient. Patients under 18 years of age may have 2 visitors per patient per day. NICU patients may have their mother and 1 other visitor.
All visitors, patients and staff will still be required to wear a cloth or surgical mask over their nose and mouth in public and patient areas. Visitors must provide their own mask.
Inpatient visitors will receive an armband after checking in, and are encouraged to remain in patient rooms during their visitation.
Lobbies will still remain closed.
