I don't know why this question popped into my head, but it's a good one.

The question is, what is the most Lubbock food? If someone popped up from out of town and said, "feed me the food of your people," what food (not place) would that be?

I'm not sure Lubbock is culinarily known for one thing or another. I have my ideas on how I'd answer this question, but I don't want to try to influence your choice in the poll.  Just to give a good idea of what I'm talking about, if you went to Shreveport, Louisiana and said, "feed me the food of your people," we'd have a hot shrimp po' boy in front of us in seconds. If we went to someplace in Chicago, we'd get deep-dish pizza.

I just find this a compelling question because this is very much a town of eaters. What to eat, where to eat, what's opening soon and so on always seem to be on everyone's minds. When a new place opens, it's always packed until everyone has a chance to try it.

I hope I included all the types of foods that should be considered. I kind of skipped over seafood, Italian and some other types of cuisine that are a little under the radar here. The same for things like Pho, which is becoming big here but will never be considered a Lubbock dish.

Vote and check in with the poll. At some point you may need to entertain visitors and you'll know right where to go.
