What Led Up To The Stabbing On New Year’s Day in Lubbock
More information has been released concerning what led up to a stabbing that happened in Lubbock on New Year's Day.
KAMC News reports that an officer was at the scene of a collision at around 3:15 a.m. that morning. This was in the 3300 block of 19th Street. The officer says they noticed a vehicle pull up to a fire engine that was blocking traffic.
The man in that vehicle told the officer he had been stabbed, even going so far as to remove his hand from his lower left side and cause blood to flow out.
The victim told officers that at around 3 a.m., he went to an unknown residence where a party was being held. He wanted to talk to his ex-girlfriend, who was at the party.
While trying to talk to his ex, the victim says another man tried to fight him, so in an attempt to avoid confrontation, the victim tried to get in his truck and leave. However, the suspect allegedly approached the door of the pickup, held it open and stabbed the victim in the torso.
The victim claimed he did not recognize the suspect or even know his relation to the ex-girlfriend.
The victim was transported to a local hospital by EMS for treatment. His current condition is unknown, and the aforementioned suspect has yet to be either identified or located.
