The Cactus Theater is holding a concert this weekend in honor of Hispanic Heritage month but has recently made some changes. The theater has decided to move the time of their concert featuring Los Texmaniacs back so they could hold a free event for the community.

For the first road game of the 2022 Texas Tech Football season, the Cactus Theater will screen the Red Raiders' game against North Carolina State on their silver screen.

The showcase for the Cactus Theater, Los Texmaniacs, are kicking off Hispanic Heritage month with their Grammy Award-winning mix of Tex-Mex conjunto, Texas rock, blues, and R&B. This group is known to be the worldwide kings of Texas Root music since their origination in 1997.

Los Texmaniacs is comprised of four members who add their own touch of flair to the group. Max Baca is on the bajo sexto, a twelve string-like guitar, Josh Baca is on the accordion, Noel Hernandez plays electric bass, and Lorenzo Martinez is on the drums. Martinez also occasionally plays the vihuela guitar and guitarron acoustic bass.

The pre-concert football game is being streamed on ESPN.com, or if you have a television subscription/streaming service it can also be streamed on ESPN2. North Carolina is ranked number 16 and will hosting Texas Tech at the Carter-Finley Stadium. This marks the sixth time the schools have faced off, with the last three meetings between the schools having gone down to the wire when it came to scoring the game-winning touchdown.

There's currently no word as to if the concert will be pushed back if the game goes into overtime like the previous home game against the University of Houston Cougars.

Kick off for the game starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 17th, followed by the Los Texmaniacs concert, which will go on from 9 until 10:30 p.m. Tickets for the concert will be checked after the game.
