A local TikToker alleges the situation is bad.

There have been several threats making the rounds online about possible school shootings around the nation but some of those schools included are local.

Earlier this week, Lubbock ISD staff and parents of students were notified of a proposal to close Dupre Elementary School by the end of the school year.

All four Lubbock ISD high school baseball teams, plus Lubbock-Cooper, Frenship, San Angelo Central, Plainview, Canyon Randall and Odessa Permian are playing in the three-day tournament

The Coronavirus has shown itself on multiple campuses in the South Plains, but some school districts are continuing face-to-face instruction.

Masks will be required for kids in 4th grade and above, and all adults will be required to wear masks. Face shields will not be required, but will be provided for teachers who might be teaching higher risk kids. P.E. classes will still take place, and Lubbock ISD schools have bought sanitizing materials in preparation. Only 1 kid will be allowed to use a piece of equipment at a time, and the equipment will be sanitized afterwards.

The graduation ceremonies for seniors at all five Lubbock ISD high schools will be held outdoors during the first week of June.
