15-year-old Jaden Rosas from O'Donnell, Texas was killed by a stray bullet in San Antonio the morning of Tuesday, July 20th.

KAMC News reports that Jaden was visiting relatives in San Antonio, still coping with the loss of his mother to cancer a few months prior. He was playing video games when a stray bullet came through the wall and struck him in the head. This happened at around 3 a.m.

Jaden's father, Epi, described what happened:

The bullet just went through the wall, went through his head and he just fell to the ground and his cousins tried to keep him alive. I tell myself should have been there, because when you tell your kid you’re going to protect him, that’s a promise you can’t ever take back.

His mission was to be a gamer to make his own game so other people out there could play his game. He said, ‘Dad, this is my life. This is what I do to communicate. This is how I can escape out of this world into this world and leave my mom and everybody else out.

Since the incident, various fundraisers have been created to help raise money for funeral expenses before Friday, July 23rd. You can click the link here to visit the GoFundMe page for Jaden. As of Wednesday afternoon, over $3,000 had been raised.

Officials are still searching for as many as 3 suspects that may have been involved in this incident.
